We are located in Hot Springs County in the town of Thermopolis, WY. We would love for you to come and visit and take a step back in time. We have two floors in our main building and an additional five buildings in our annex area. We have an extensive collection of amazing artifacts. We have a very extensive collection of Arrowheads that is one of the largest in the area. We are home to the Original Hole-in-the-Wall Bar. It is the very bar where Butch Cassidy would hang out with his gang. The Bar was owned by Tom Skinner whom was a personal friend of Butch. So come on in and spend a day with us.

  • We love museums and this one didn’t disappoint. It had lots of history. The whole in the wall bar was amazing. I was surprised at how big the museum was. It was neat and well organized with labels...

  • What an amazing museum! There's something for every history lover: pioneers, war-time, king cattle, period clothing, dress up time for cute photos, and a great scavenger hunt to get the kiddos excited! The staff is second to none, too! They were friendly and even offered my son a snack when his blood sugar dropped. We'll be back next summer!
  • The exhibits are numerous and well designed with very detailed authentic artifacts. The annex building includes a school house which was relocated. It is great addition to the museum. The walls have very realistic murals that enhance the exhibits. The museum is ran by a family...whose young son accompanied us to the annex and was very knowable and provided informed information on the exhibits. The museum is well kept and organized and extremely affordable!
