Home to the largest collection of this artist's paintings, the whitewashed house of the Norman Rockwell Museum sits among the hills. In addition to nearly 600 paintings, you'll find an archive with over 100,000 items and artifacts, plus fan mail. The museum building itself, situated among green countryside and rolling hills, is suggestive of the ideals that Rockwell espoused in his work. • A great place to visit! The past two times I've been were on Wednesdays (the museum was closed, silly me), but even touring the grounds and seeing the views from which he painted some of America's most classic paintings is a real treat. If your timing is better than mine, be sure to visit the center room where the Four Freedoms paintings are-- reminding us of what is truly important in our great nation.
  • Recently visited for the new fantasy art exhibit and loved it! There are new outdoor sculptures that fit the theme as well. Inside there were paintings, illustrations, and sculptures of dragons, fairies, wizards, knights, and other fairytale characters. Many paintings by artists who had designed for Magic the Gathering. Some great paintings from Lord of the Rings as well.
