A designated National Scenic Byway, Skyline Drive, runs 169 km (105 mi) along a mountain ridge and through valleys teeming with wildlife. Traverse it by car, by bicycle, or on horseback. There are over 70 spots where you can stop to snap photos and take in the views. Along the way, mileposts will guide you and help you locate points of interest. About halfway through, expect to see the largest developed area on the drive. You'll find campgrounds and hiking trails here. Remember, it's illegal to feed wildlife. In early April the trees were just starting to bud but the scenery was still beautiful. There are so many scenic views to pull over to, and many trails off the main road.

Loved it, there’re lots of lookout along the drive to enjoy the scenery, many trails, we drove through mostly since kids prefer not to hike.

One of the best National parks you can drive through in any season. This time I drive through skyline drive stretch from north to south. Below are highlights 1. You have to pay admission to enter but if you have annual pass (I had America the Beautiful pass) then it’s free entry 2. Visitor center has abundant source of souvenirs but it’s small Ask staff for any details like viewpoints etc that are always happy to help 3. Stop wherever you want and watch the overlooks 4. Weather sometime acts weird . I travelled on March 26 2022 but it snowed for some minutes 5. It will take total 3-4 hours with stopping 6. Carry water and food 7. You can see deers gazing beside road

the greatest views. it’s winter so the grass and trees look kinda dead but the mountains look amazing. almost like it’s a painting. the entrance fee is $30 per vehicle (waived for military with ID). it’s a nice drive, stopping every so often to look at a new view. go on a sunny day for the best experience
