Elkwallow presented a great place to stop and use the facilities. They have a small gift shop and grill, and some picnic tables which were very popular on a Saturday in October.

Most I've ever paid for a hot dog! But it was well made and staff is doing a good job. It's too bad souvenirs are so expensive, even stickers! But it was a welcome, peaceful stop with bathrooms, picnic tables and plenty of parking.

No cell phone reception and that's a perfect opportunity for everyone to put their phones down and enjoy the nature. Brand new picnic tables, fire pits, lots of wood to fuel your fire. Trails are everywhere. In early November, they close the bathrooms for winter, however, there is a pit restroom and a clise by shopping center for a regular one.
