Explore greenhouses with environments ranging from jungle to desert when you visit Volunteer Park Conservatory. You'll tour five houses, each representing their own distinct environment. Walk through the bromeliads house to see an array of plants that attach themselves to surfaces like rocks or branches. Head to the fern house to see all types of ferns and carnivorous plants, like the Venus fly trap. Tropical plants reign at the palms house and the opposite is true at the cacti and succulent house, which promotes desert plant life. Don't miss the seasonal house, which rotates the plants it features based on the time of year. Beautiful garden. Well worth the price of admission, $4 as of July 2022, especially considering free parking is abundant. Staff was extremely friendly and their passion for the work was obvious. Gift shop was very cute. Definitely will be back when in the Seattle area.

I'm in love with the VPC. For normal visitors it's only $4 to enter. If you're a Seattle local you can get a family membership for $55 for the year which is SUCH a good deal. My husband and I now go every month and every visit there's something new in there to look at. The bloom seasons are all so different from each other and they bring in season plants as well for a different variety. I love their gift shop and the workers are always so dang sweet. Right now they do still require masks when inside the facility (which I prefer) and it's a one way loop around the 5 themed green houses.
