Conceived and built as one of the centerpieces of the 1962 World's Fair, Pacific Science Center stands as one of Seattle's primary attractions. Though its physical appearance, replete with distinctive arches, is a mainstay of the city's central area, the museum's displays draw many visitors every year. You can see everything from animatronic dinosaurs and gigantic insects to ocean ecosystems and a colony of naked mole rats. Visit the planetarium, interact with butterflies in the butterfly house, or catch a special documentary or presentation on one of the center's IMAX movie screens. Kids can learn a great deal about the natural world through many hands-on experiments and labs. • The Pacific Science Center is one of the coolest places in all of the Pacific Northwest. I strongly recommend anyone near Seattle to visit this place it is filled with amazing exhibitions and the IMAX theater is incredible. (Not to mention the laser dome). Please visit! You'll be glad for the rest of your life for doing so.
  • As of 5-29-22 the center is still closed. We went to see Top Gun 2 at the IMAX theater. Everything from the lobby is gone, all the cool games and such, it was sad to see it all cleared out. The theater was super clean and the employees super nice and the movie was great!
