Discover for yourself the history and tradition of Seattle and the American Northwest at Museum of History & Industry. Inside the museum you'll find one of the most comprehensive collections of artifacts in the whole region. See the first Boeing commercial plane, take a look through the original World War II submarine periscope, and travel through Seattle's history from the city's beginnings to the modern age. In addition to the permanent displays, which show just a fraction of its collection, the museum regularly sets up themed exhibits (look up the schedule online before you arrive). The museum is easily accessible via public transportation, and there is also designated parking for visitors who arrive by car, as well as the historical wharf for those who prefer to sail in. This mid-size museum covers the history of Seattle. It’s in a large building in Lake Union Park that formerly housed the Naval Reserve Armory. It’s worth a visit. You can see it all in less than two..... more

I have come to this museum in the past and each time it was great. I love all the artifacts and pictures. It’s very detailed it would take a few visits to really learn and take it all in. It’s a nice location too close to other activities and restaurants. Parking was $7 for 2 hours which was enough time for the museum.

A very interesting look at the history of the city, region, state and innovations that have made this region thrive. Was really fascinated by the history of labor unions and how the great Seattle Fire reshaped the city. Also was glad they covered Point Elliot Treaty and the rich indigenous history and honored the Duwamish & Chief Seattle. On a side note, also interesting history of some of the businesses that have driven innovation and certainly substantial wealth to area.
