Kalahari Waterparks, Sandusky

Room prices are far too expensive for what you actually get. We booked a king suite w/ whirlpool bath. There was an electric fireplace in the room that didn’t work. The faucet on the bath tub felt like it was ready to fall off. The mini fridge looked like it had seen better days. You don’t get individual travel size samples of shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. - instead you get shampoo, conditioner and body wash in large pumps that they refill and that have been touched by previous renters which is kind of gross. The shower is small and outdated. The check-in process is all done via a computer once you get there which is fine but we had no idea where to go once we checked-in because it was our first time there and you don’t get to speak with anybody to direct you where to go - that being said, there were maps above the check-in computers but I didn’t notice them until we were checking out. After walking around for a bit we figured out the general layout. Everything is pretty costly if you buy anything there - $12 for a 16 oz drink that was just okay - but I assume cost is high because well the economy. The employees at the water park were nice though and they seemed to like to interact with guests which made it a fun experience. But sadly, when you pay $710 you kind of expect a little nicer room. Consider investing money back into your rooms.

When we arrived I was unable to use the kiosk to register because my credit card did not have a bar code and I didn't have a confirmation email. Instead, I had to wait a half hour in a long line for help. It was only 2pm and my room was ready. Also, they gave us an upgrade. It was so nice. The room was so close to the park and it had 1 king and 2 queen beds. Also, there were two bathrooms and all aspects of the room was clean. The park was great. The slides were fun. However, areas of the park are starting to run down. One area has what looks like scaffolding holding the slides up. I also suggest bringing food because we didn't and we went to the Italian restaurant and it is too expensive
