Create an itinerary including Quechee Gorge
Dubbed "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon," Quechee Gorge features hikes down into the canyon or up to the bordering waterfalls for views of the surrounding area. Fish and canoe in the river, hike one of the marked trails, and go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. You'll have the option to cross the gorge using the suspension bridge or use the pedestrian walkways on both sides. Take time to climb along the boulders beside the river at the bottom of the path. Be sure to wear walking shoes or boots since the rocks can be uneven and slippery. Put Quechee Gorge on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Quechee day trip planning app.

  • Beautiful gorge in a lovely valley and worth visting if you're in the area. Carryout food place across the street has great ice creams, sandwishes and more with picnic tables.

  • Spectacular views. Park and cross the bridge to see both sides. We took the path down from the visitor center. Nice easy walk and nice scenery but it didn’t offer good views of the bridge itself.

  • A beautiful sight when you see it from the bridge but it gets better once you see from beneath! There is a trail leading to bottom of the gorge through the woods (a 10-15 min walk) and the views from there was amazing. We went there during the summer but believe it would have been even better during fall with the foliage. There is a visitor center too and the hike to the gorge from the road was lovely too.
  • This is an amazing sight to behold any time of the year. But if you go during the leaf peeping season you will find it difficult to maintain personal space. With that said it's still worth going to see. Parking is abundant but you will have to walk to get a good view. If you take the trail to the lower end of the gorge, it will consume about an hour of time and it's all up hill on the way back. So people with bad knees or problems walking long distance should probably experience the gorge from the bridge. The upper end can be driven to and a short walk to the dam. There are some bathrooms but things these days are weird and I can't understand why a bathroom would be closed but they are. Paved and gravel parking with plenty of handicapped access.
