Harpers Ferry Adventure Center, Purcellville

We celebrated our sons birthday on a Saturday with tubing and camping by the river and it was awesome! Tubing was just enough fun for all ages of kids in our group from 10-16. The older ones were definitely interested in the whitewater tubing for even more adventure. Our campsites were clean and had everything I would expect to have when camping. We can’t wait to go there again.

When booking our campsite it was advertised as “riverfront” camping. We arrived and we’re assigned a site across the road and from other sites that were actually on the riverfront. The site was very poorly maintained, large weeds growing everywhere and no gravel tent pad. There was also no charcoal grill as advertised. I bumped into the gentleman listed as the overnight emergency contact and inquired if there were any sites that were better maintained and ACTUALLY on the river. He smirked at me and his attitude was AWFUL. We did get assigned to a new spot which also did not have a charcoal grill as advertised. The bath house was very dirty and was not cleaned for the 2 days we were there. Also black mold on the shower curtains. I think you have a great location and with a little bit of effort you could have great campsites. I would definitely not recommend these sites to anyone.
