All Together Playground, Orem

Over 4,100 volunteers, supervised by playground construction professionals from Leathers & Associates, came together to build Utah County’s first all-abilities playgrounds in 6.5 days in the Fall of 2016. The All-Together Playground is a space that provides inclusive play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities. There is no admission cost for the park. What is an All-Abilities Playground? Children with disabilities often cannot play on a standard playground and therefore cannot take advantage of the amazing benefits that play provides. An all-abilities playground is a space that provides inclusive play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities. These types of playgrounds are designed to promote the healthy development of all children’s physical, social, cognitive, and sensory abilities. LOCATION – CITY CENTER PARK City Center Park is the perfect location for the All-Together Playground. Not only is the park centrally located, but it is also close to other amenities such as the Orem Public Library, restrooms, and ample parking. NEW RESTROOMS The restrooms at the park were built to accommodate wheelchairs and adult-size changing tables. SPACE TO PLAY The playground is over 19,000 square feet so that there is plenty of room to play.

This place was built by the community and had so much community involvement. Now to see it is so sad. It is still fun, it is still able to be used, but maintained it has not been. It has been destroyed, vandalized, and wrecked. Such a slap in the face to those that help build this to not have it/keep it maintained. Your kids won’t even notice, they’ll still have fun so this is more of personal adult observation. Go, have fun, it’s a good playground, just is in need of some cosmetics.
