Create an itinerary including Oceanside Pier
A popular fishing spot, you can catch a Pacific bonito or sand bass off Oceanside Pier, and grill your own dinner at one of the shaded picnic areas complete with tables and barbecue grills. If the fish aren't biting, you can get an equally delicious meal at the 1950s-style diner nearby. At the end of the pier is the Junior Seau Pier Ampitheatre, which hosts events and performances throughout the year. Rent a bike from one of the many rental shops and ride down the pier to find a nice spot to watch local surfers catch waves--just be sure to keep your distance from the often peckish pelicans. You'll have to pay for parking; it's available on a first-come, first-served basis. If nearby lots are full, consider parking in one of the free lots on the east side of the village. Take a look at our Oceanside online trip maker to schedule your visit to Oceanside Pier and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • It's definitelty worth a visit. The view is amazing, and parking is close by. I was surprised by how long it was. That's what she said.

  • The restaurant at the end of the pier is shut down. Seems like a great place to have a restaurant! It's a long pier, so you get to do a lot of people watching if you like that sort of thing. Also, a good spot for pictures.
  • Oceanside Pier is the longest pier over the Pacific Ocean in California. The pier is well maintained, lots of people enjoy walking the pier daily. It's a great place to take children and it's an easy walk. You can fish from the pier and about half way to the end of the pier across from the Lifeguards is a small fishing tackle and souvenir shop. It's pretty easy to see wildlife from the pier and the views and sunsets are amazing. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍 Thank you!
