Trinity Church, New York City

A pillar of the community in lower Manhattan, Trinity Church has played an integral part in New York history from the Revolutionary War to present day. In 1698 Capt. William Kidd gave the runner and tackle from his ship to the builders for hoisting during construction.The church was rebuilt twice before the final reconstruction was completed in 1846. Admire the bronze doors and 23 bells, which reflect the rich patronage the church has received throughout the years. See the burial place of Alexander Hamilton and other famed New Yorkers in the cemetery. Near the burial grounds, you can also visit the tree sculpture commemorating those lost on 9/11.
