A lovely place to go for a day trip or a quick hike. Though I've passed by this place many times, I've never stopped in the little historic town. The little town has a really interesting history and it was fun to step back in time. Also they have great shops for Christmas gifts. I am definitely coming back to try the restaurants and cafes.

One of the best views of Maryland into Virginia. The town itself is beautiful and well preserved. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. The National Park parking fee is $20 to park a standard vehicle. $15 for motorcycles. There’s a free bus that take you to the lower part of town where there are shops and restaurants. You can cross the bridge by the railroad to get to the overlook trail. It’s around 6 miles round trip. It’s a good hike. Not too steep or rocky. The paths are clear and mostly gravel with a few rocky patches. Bring your camera! There views are great in Autumn.
