Deep within the lush wilderness of the Great Smoky Mountains, Roaring Fork is surrounded with waterfalls, forested hills, and a number of trails to explore. This area, now on the National Register of Historic Places, is home to frontier cabins and farms. Prone to swelling even after mild rain, the stream's noise echoes loudly through the surroundings. Wander through the Appalachian homesteads in the nearby clearings for a glimpse of an isolated community that survived well into the 20th century. Take a scenic drive along the Motor Nature Trail, a 9.6 km (6 mi) historical road that passes many of the area's major sights. Make Roaring Fork part of your personalized Great Smoky Mountains National Park itinerary using our Great Smoky Mountains National Park online route builder.

Excellent scenic drive through the Smokie Mountains and views for photos and possibly Bear sitings and different distance hiking trails options to water falls or just trails. You won’t regret it.

Roaring Fork Motor Trail is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking views. One of the best Motor Trails you can drive with a lot of places to park, get out and venture around and see the beautiful flowing mountain streams.

Roaring Fork is an absolute must the morning after a great rain. There are 8 bridges to go across, I just have to stop at each one for photos and a quick video. There are a couple falls to see too. The rapids can be something to see and hear! Some places to pull off and park to get out for better pictures and stretch your legs. Drive slow, windows down and enjoy! If it hasn't rained in a while, it may not be as "roaring" as the name.
