Apgar Visitor Center, Glacier National Park

About a mile or so inside the park. Plenty of parking available. Trash cans and recycling bins available. Clean restrooms. Water fountain to fill your water bottles. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic park rangers to help answer your questions. Since the going to the Sun road was closed beyond certain points we had to figure out how to spend our days and rangers were very helpful suggesting different trails we could do. They also had a map which gives difficulty level for each trail to help you figure out which ones you want to do. There is a bike path around visitor center which takes you to Apgar village which has beautiful views of mountains next to lake McDonald. That is probably one of the most scenic views from west side.

Pulled in late, the camp host had a sign of possible available sites for the night with the instructions of paying by 9am the following morning. No electricity but there was a shower house, clean bathrooms, food storage boxes, and fresh water spickets. Very wooded and deep in the woods with tons of trails. Nature at its finest here!! McDonald Creek leading into McDonald Lake.
