In 1978, The Muriel L. MacGregor Charitable Trust was formed. In 1983, the Colorado Attorney General's office was instrumental in actions to further safeguard the site as the National Park Service worked with the Trustees to purchase a conservation easement on the main 1200 acres of the ranch. The site is maintained in perpetuity as an example of turn-of-the-century, high-mountain ranching.

  • This is still a working ranch with lots of history of the Estes Park area. Our docent was very knowledgeable and took lots of time to explain the unique history of the area. Really enjoyed it!

  • My husband and I were there on August 18. We arrived too late for the final tour. We were very pleasantly surprised when the lady giving the tours allowed us to go inside for a shortened version. She told us many stories and we enjoyed it greatly!!! Kudos to her for going above and beyond!! I LOVE historical things (like this place) and I would recommend it to every person. I am so grateful to the foundation for all the work put towards saving this ranch and preserving an important part of Estes Park history.
  • We visited the ranch in August, and were pleasantly pleased with the preservation of our western way of life. The tour of the home was quite interesting, and the manager of the gift shop made our trip complete. She was also quite interesting and willing to share her pride in and knowledge of the Ranch. I tell everyone they absolutely must visit the Ranch the next time they are in Estes Park. Thank you for a wonderful day! We'll be back!
