Excellent museum with a lot of information. You could spend an entire afternoon here. I would highly recommend taking the tour so that you can see the airplane repair area.

This is a must-see stop if you are a museum or history lover… or, even if you are not! The collection of aircraft here is amazing. Equally amazing is that almost all of them are in flying condition and the few that are not are in restoration to be able to fly. Make sure you allocate enough time to make your way through the exhibits. I highly recommend taking the guided tour. It takes about 2 hours and is well worth it. Our docent was very knowledgeable. He spoke to the group at a level that was understandable for the beginner aviation enthusiast and could quickly answer questions posed by the more experienced in our tour group. The displays are nicely arranged. You can get up close and personal with the aircraft and learn details with the accompanying graphics and memorabilia on display. WestPac Restorations is included in the tour so you have a chance to see all the work that goes into restoring these planes.

We had such a great time on what is sure to be the first of many visits! It was an incredibly well put together museum, the displays were top-notch and filled with information and pieces of history! The tour was worth the extra $5.00. It was a great way to get perspective and be able to ask questions. Not only did we learn about the aircraft, but about the painstaking details that go into restoring them. Definitely worth the time and money!
