Thank you Anglers Covey: What an awesome day on the water. Our guides Juan and Phil were the best. Their knowledge of the Arkansas River and the best flies for the day made a wonderful experience. This is my 5th guided trip with anglers covey and I have never been disappointed with the service, guides or the river locations. I will certainly continue to book trips with anglers covey when visiting Colorado Springs.

What an amazing day out on the Arkansas River! A high school friend from out of town invited me to join her to fish with a guide from Angler’s Covey. It was only my 2nd time out - first time with a guide. We met up with Phil Tereyla and headed to the Pueblo Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center. The sun was shining, the water had yet to get super cold, and the fish were biting! Phil’s instructions on casting, mending, setting the hook, reeling and working with the fish (as I reeled) were perfect! He was super patient — even after my friend and I lost several flies to some bank- side branches & rocks. I caught & lost a few (including a small brown) and eventually reeled in a beautiful rainbow (close to 22” & approx 4-5 lbs.) and another rainbow right towards the end of the day that was around 18”. My friend caught several including a beautiful red male, close to 20”. I really appreciated Phil’s excitement each time we landed a fish. You could tell he loves his work and sharing the joys of fly fishing with his customers. If you’re seeking a fantastic fly fishing guide in Colorado Springs, get in touch with Phil. You won’t be disappointed! Oh, and he’s also a published author. You can pick up his book at Angler’s Covey.
