Admire the colorful rock arches and the vast canyon at Capitol Reef National Park . The park is part of the Waterpocket Fold, a rare warp in the earth's crust that formed millions of years ago. This warp created the tall, white, sandstone domes that you'll see. Admire the rock art of ancient people in the Capitol Gorge. Explore the park on hiking trails or the gravel roads, keeping an eye out for remnants of early settlers' log cabins. Enjoy fruit from the trees first cultivated by Mormon planters. Begin your day at the visitor center, where you can pay admission and a fee to harvest fruit and purchase a backcountry pass. You can also reserve a campsite here. • A hidden gem!! We did the whole drive along Hwy 24 through the park from east to west as the sun set. It was beautiful and with changing geology all along the way. The next day we entered early...

  • We hit Utah's big 5 national park and we loved this park! Not crowded and plenty of incredible views and hikes! If you are in a 4x4 go to the end of the main road and take the Pleasant Creek Rd as far as you want. If in a car or 4x4 drive down the other road that's at the end of the main road. It's a narrow canyon that's like hiking but you're in your car! Very cool!
  • This National Park is gorgeous. I think it is the hidden gem of the 5 national parks in Utah. See the petroglyphs, they are absolutely amazing. The Grand Wash Basin hike was a lot of fun. Be sure to stop and have a picnic, they have one of the most relaxing areas I have ever been too.
