Echo Canyon River Expeditions, Cañon City

I had done a rafting trip in NY a few years ago and it was pretty bad. Needless to say, I was a bit iffy trying it again but I agreed. As tourists in the area, we signed up for the "scenic" Big Horn full day. We had Asa as our guide and he was fantastic. He truly knows the river and rapids well, and created a great, enjoyable experience for us. Caught some level III rapids; no one bounced out of the raft. We're ready for some more advanced rapids and will definitely do the Royal Gorge with Echo, and hopefully Asa as the guide, the next time we're in Colorado. PSA: Don't forget to tip your guides... WELL.

Half-day Royal Gorge with my mom - both first-timers but good swimmers - luckily, didn’t have to test that out. All staff throughout the raft experience were highly professional, efficient, and made our first experience not be our last. Will definitely go back, taking other out of town visitors, and will be requesting our raft guide Craig! I didn’t know it was possible to control a raft that well, and he’s just an overall cool dude. Clean, modern, and comfortable facilities with great staff. You have many choices for RG rafting. Go with Echo Canyon. Can’t recommend more!
