Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake, Blue Mountain Lake

Awesome place to tour and learn about important aspects of Adirondack history! The grounds are gorgeous and provide a good, gentle hike if you're looking for that. Many buildings are accessible though, if a brisk uphill walk isn't what you're looking for. Explore the history of fire towers and logging, learn about the environmental and social impacts of industry in the mountains, take a deep dive into the ancient and modern cultural importance of the region.

Kid Friendly like no other museum!!! They have kids activities everywhere which also means the parents can read the cool info while the kids are playing. We travel full time and go to lots of museums and I've never seen a museum with so many things for kids to do and those things aren't tucked away in a corner but right along side the exhibits. They also have books everywhere that you can read to your kids or get great ideas on outdoor life type books. Absolutely loved this.
