The road to get to the arch is 10 miles of dirt. High clearance vehicles probably best. Do not attempt if road is wet! There are a couple of gravel "overpasses" you must navigate. The arch is cool, but it is a lot of driving just for the arch...

On your way from Tropic to Cottonwood Canyon and southbound on its a surprising detour. Park your car at the day use parking and walk the few steps towards this extraordinary natural monument. And don't forget to bring your own water because like most of Grand Staircase National Monument's sites it's pretty remote here...
