Create an itinerary including Inner Harbor
A defining landmark, Inner Harbor featured water too shallow in the 18th century for heavy industry. In the 1970s, a visit from tall, masted ships attracted tourism and led to the development of the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, and the Harborplace festival marketplace. Restaurants, shops, and hotels fill the space between the attractions and create an attractive cityscape. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Baltimore holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Inner Harbor and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Most of the shops are closed. Streets are not as clean as previous years visits. Daily parking is at a premium with premium pricing.

  • We were here on a Christmas evening. Most of the shops were closed barring a couple of souvenir stores. But, we absolutely loved the views of the water and had a fun time taking snaps of the reflections of buildings and ships. It wasn't too cold and the weather was good enough for a nice stroll. There are few historic ships stationed there. Parking was on the opposite side of the road.
  • I love Baltimore, but, they have some serious renovating to do / complete to this area. It's a great view and backdrop for photos. The harbor water stinks! The prices for tickets for the tourist attractions are high. Half of the stores are closed up and the appearance of the area needs major work. Come on Public works! Keep our city presentable!
