Witness the splendor of early 20th-century America at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, the country's sixth-largest historical home open to the public. The landscaped estate and its buildings, including the vast manor house, were built for F.A. Seiberling, founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. The estate now encompasses 28 ha (70 acres) with eight historical gardens and five historical buildings, including the 65-room manor house. Various tours of the estate take you from the manicured grounds through the glamour of the manor. You'll see its indoor swimming pool and music room with an organ, as well as the servants' quarters and utility rooms. Many different tours are available; you can find details and buy tickets online. Make Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens a centerpiece of your Akron vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Akron trip planner.

Amazing mansion, grounds, gardens and greenhouse. A gem for the city and the state. The staff and tour guide were incredibly helpful, insightful and knowledgeable. You should visit this site often. This will satisfy the fans of architecture and the history buff. This place is literally a time capsule, with over 90% of the contents from the original family. We will visit again. This has our highest recommendation. We would recommend studying the various tour options because you could easily spend all day at the estate. We spent two hours with a tour guide and saw less than half of the rooms! We will also return in the warmer months so we can get more appreciation of the numerous gardens. Keep strolling to find former tennis courts, ponds and a view of the valley below.

Wonderful holiday light display at Deck the Halls. They had overflow parking and a shuttle. Light display on grounds amazing. The trees inside the manor house were like you entered a fairy tale. Busy but crowds flowed really well. Great job staff & volunteers!!
