The Commandery is a historic building open to visitors and located in the city of Worcester, England. It opened as a museum in 1977 and was for a while the only museum in England dedicated solely to the Civil Wars. The Commandery ceased to be a Civil War museum when it reopened to the public in May 2007, having undergone a year and a half of refurbishments and reinterpretation jointly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Worcester City Council, who own the building. It is a Grade I listed building.

  • This is a must when visiting Worcester and especially if you're into British history. The £7.50 entrance fee is totally worth, beautiful building with lots of history!

  • A huge building which tells it's story through it's different eras. The main focus is on the civil war with great interactive elements, games to play, recordings, dressing up, manual type writers...

  • I go here regular to relax. It's a fabulous place with great cakes and coffee. Pete does a wicked salad in the summer and lovely soups in the winter. Gemma make the most amazing cakes. Highly recommended for locals and visitors a like
  • Lovely visit here. Staff were all so kind, helpful and so very obliging. Great to experience a place that is from the Tudor times. Great children's experience and dog friendly for those with well behaved dogs. Cafe staff were wonderful and very helpful. Great experience for everyone.
