Wendover Woods is an area of woodland on the north edge of the Chiltern Hills in England. Named after the nearby town of Wendover, the woods are part of the Public Forest Estate and are managed by Forestry England.

Covering 325 ha (800 acres), the woods are a mixture of coniferous and broad-leaved trees. There are several signed walks for recreation, as well as bridleways, picnic and barbecue areas and a children's playground. A Go Ape treetop adventure course opened in 2008.

There are views of the countryside in the Aylesbury Vale to the north, and a stone monument marking the highest point of the Chilterns which lies within the woods on Haddington Hill.

The Aston Hill Mountain Bike Area is at the edge of the woods.
Wendover Woods is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , world travel planner Edition.

  • Visited for cycling with the kids (3½ and 5½) - was steeper than we'd expected! We ended up doing the shortened version of the Firecracker Trail. Paths were quite stoney and there was very little flat. Will wait until they're a bit older before cycling here again, but will be back for walks. The kids loved the play parks after the rides and a well-earned picnic! Facilities were very good.
  • Definitely worth having a wonder in the woods, so peaceful and beautiful... Took I blanket and just found a spot along a path and enjoyed the afternoon. Restroom was clean considering it was a busy day! Definitely recommend a visit.
