  • We walked around Upper Slaughter twice today. Once in early morning when church was closed but this afternoon it was open. Well worth a visit and check out the lamb painting under the altar.

  • The name “Slaughter” comes from old English 'Slohtre', which means ‘muddy place'. The village is the epitome of idyllic charm, in the banks of the River Eye. One of the most picturesque and idyllic...

  • As churches restored in Victorian times with limited regard for heritage go, St Peter's is a nice example. The building is open. Stained glass is largely 19th century but with an interesting 1990s addition in a modern style
  • Lovely place to visit.
