Since extensive restoration the memorial and gardens look lovely.Its now a safe place to sit. The flowers look lovely at present and no litter.

A truly lovely memorial next to the church, it is a large structure, but honors all the local people in the area who gave their lives in the two wars, to make our lifes better.

I have attended the Remembrance Day parade many times over the last 15 years, both in and out of uniform. The townspeople are very proud of those who served and the monument to those who gave the greatest sacrifice.

A proud focus of remembrance for local people who gave their lives fighting for their country. Among those commemorated is Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Vann, awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery in World War I. He died just before the end of the war in 1918. in September 2018 a plaque next to the war memorial was unveiled to recognise this remarkable man and a day held in his honour, with ceremony and procession by the war memorial.
