Create an itinerary including Scone Palace
Located on top of an ancient gathering place for the Pict people, Scone Palace still attracts visitors to its Georgian Gothic facade. Every king of Scotland up to Alexander III was crowned on this site, but the palace you'll see was rebuilt much later, in the 19th century. Wander the gardens surrounding the palace, where you'll find peacocks roaming, including a handful of albino males. These magnificent birds strut among the woodlands' 250-year-old fir trees, where the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust's Scottish Game Fair is held every year. Make Scone Palace a centerpiece of your Perth vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Perth trip builder tool.

  • My girlfriend and I visited recently and enjoyed seeing the peacocks! It was wonderful visiting the gardens and Palace. We both love history! Neither one of us had visited the gardens before so that was special. We both took the challenge of the maze and succeeded! We later had a lovely romantic meal together in the cafeteria of the Palace and to top it off it was a beautiful and sunny day.
  • Just came back from holiday in Scotland. The best part of the holiday was my visit to Scone Palace. I booked the guided tour. Tour guide was great. Overall a beautiful place
