  • We had great fun exploring the castle with our guide John who gave interesting facts and told plenty of stories. Great views from the tower which was a challenge to get up and down but glad we did...

  • The Oxford castle + Prison starts with a guided tour. Our guide Becca was very enthusiastic, knowledgable and fun. The views from the top of st Georges tower are fantastic and worth the entrance fee....  more

  • Great guided tour by Helena Very interesting and informative. Would recommend. Be aware lots of stairs going up to tower then stairs going down to prison. But not rushed as I took time to go up. Guide was a great story teller bringing History to life with great enthusiasm and humour.
  • Appreciated the live tour guide Becca (a rarity these days) as she was good storyteller and did a good job keeping the kids engaged on the tour. The big drawback was the age limit to climb the tower. We've brought our kids to plenty of similarly challenging staircases (Newcastle Castle, Tower of London, Dover Castle and more), and they've been fine. The attraction should let parents decide if their kids can handle it.
