Built sometime in the 15th century, Baddesley Clinton is a moated manor house noted for its historical importance and Elizabethan Tudor architecture. The manor contains paintings of the Ferrer lineage, which has made the house its home for over 500 years. After the Protestant Reformation in England, the Ferrer family remained Roman Catholic, and throughout the house you can explore the secret passages they built to conceal and protect Catholic priests. A beautiful estate surrounds the manor house. You can explore the garden and take a walk on trails that wind through 200-year-old oaks. Baddesley Clinton is a beautiful old house, kept fairly dark on the inside to preserve the paintings and tapestries. Huge amount of history, well explained by friendly and knowledgeable room guides...

This is not a huge NT property but there is a lots of interest for a great day out, including a priest hole, an ornate chapel and the library. There's even a blood stain, supposedly from 1483 when...

A beautiful medieval moated Manor House, with a lot of history. It’s origins started in 1066. Being a NT member it was free for me to enter. General admission prices however, are still reasonable. Stunning grounds with plenty of nice areas to sit and have a picnic before or after exploring the house and grounds. Inside the house is beautiful with many original features including priest hides and the library has all original books. We were informed by one of the very helpful guides that they have conservators in to check conditions of the books. The guides are very knowledgeable helpful. The rooms are very grand and again still maintained a lot of original furniture and fittings. There is an on-site car park, a cafe/ restaurant and toilets on site too. It has the usual gift shop, which at most of these places I think are very over priced. I highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely loved this place. Moated house. Beautiful interior, full to the brim, and amazing wood panelled rooms. Huge history attached. Guides so very helpful, and telling interesting stories. A wonderful warm feel to this house, rooms open upstairs and downstairs. We enjoyed walking the grounds/lake etc. Squirrels, ducks ... even a little nut hatch flying in the woodland area. Lots of school children enjoying the grounds, which was good to see. Very much enjoyed this visit.
