Create an itinerary including Inveraray Castle
Home to the chief of the Campbell clan since the 16th century, Inveraray Castle still houses the 13th Duke's family on two floors. The rooms open to the public are furnished in the Neoclassical style and include glided ornamental detail on the walls and ceilings, chandeliers, and polished furnishings. The highlights are the tapestry room and the duke's coronation robes. The first floor houses a gallery chronicling the Cambell family history and the MacArthur Room, where a ghost is said to haunt the bed. Visit the castle's website to book a discounted ticket in advance. • Lovely castle set in a very picturesque setting. Very nice interiors, not all rooms are accessible as the castle is still lived in. Beautiful gardens and walks around the grounds. Nice cafe on site. Would definitely recommend.
  • Was closed when we went but the gift shop was open so we had a look. Took photos off the castle. Looks amazing inside, the map says they have a salmon jumping spot. Water for dogs. Need to pay to go in and to park!. To save money park In town for free and walk up.
