Great Malvern Priory, Great Malvern

Lovely church within the Great Malvern Town. It's historic & has wonderful architecture. It's free also and the tourist crowds are absent. Which makes it more of a perfect setting.

The historic church is not only an architectural delight but houses some important and interesting tiles. The earlier original medieval encaustic tiles which initially covered the floors were replaced with the current Minton tiles which are in themselves magnificent examples of Victorian tile making. There is still a large quantity of the medieval encaustic tiles which have now been fixed to a semi circular wall to the rear of the main alter. There is also a splendid mosaic dado behind the alter.
