Pine Marten Bar and Scran, Aviemore

What a great place! We were advised to try it by the very helpful lady in the Tourist Information place in Aviemore. It's in a great location, especially if you're a bird or squirrel fan. The coffee was great and we sat near the large windows to try and catch sight of a red squirrel. But for those less interested in fauna there is also a very cosy bar with roaring fire - perfect on chilly days. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's worth exploring the area too - just up the road was a wonderful view of sunlit snow-capped mountains with a foreground of a glittery loch. Absolutely worth a visit, perfect for a stop off if travelling or if finding your way around the area.

Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, nice place to go for dinner. The food isn't Michelin Star or anything, but it is a good meal at a good price. It was nice to have a few good pints of ale, a meal and then play cards with the kids for an hour in a very dog & children friendly environment. Would go again for sure!!
