Create an itinerary including Pollok Country Park
Escape from the city at Pollok Country Park, a 146-hectare (360-acre) expanse of well-manicured green space, previously named the Best Park in Europe. Stretch your legs on miles of trails, and choose a quiet picnic spot to forget about urban life. Before the building of a highway in 1994, the park was the largest urban green space in Europe. Visit shaggy Scottish Highland cattle, and view the eclectic antique and art collection of shipping magnate William Burrell. If you want to go faster than your own two feet can carry you, the park has also opened three mountain-biking routes. • Great park with easy access by car ( parking costs for 2h is £2,50 or £4,50 for all day). It is a big park with lots of different walks on offer which makes it a great place for families days out and romantic walks with the loved ones. Unfortunately only some walks are wheelchair users accessible but hopefully with time and a lot of work being done in this park that will change soon. In the middle of the park there is a Pollok house that you can visit by extra cost and booking a visit online before arrival.
  • A great place to go for a walk, especially with your dogs. Our Beagles really enjoyed running around in the huge open space. There were tons of great things to see and there were lots of places to sit and enjoy a bite to eat with great views. We spent hours here and walked 14k steps; we are very excited to visit here again! It's only a few minutes walk from the train station too so it's very easily accessible.
