Create an itinerary including St. John's College
Over five centuries of history and education come together at St. John's College, alma mater of three saints, six prime ministers, and nine Nobel Prize winners. Established in 1511 by Henry VII's mother, the photogenic campus stretches along both banks of the Cam River and features one of area's most photographed structures, known popularly as the "Bridge of Sighs." This masterpiece of decorative Neo-Gothic architecture joins the two riverbanks and often serves as the centerpiece of student pranks. Other campus highlights include a chapel designed by architect George Gilbert Scott, and a library filled with rare books, historical documents, and priceless manuscripts. • Most beautiful college in Cambridge in my opinion. Well worth a walk around the grounds and over the old bridge spanning the river Cam.
  • Great location. Helpful staff. Great for pictures and history. Share with friends.
