Create an itinerary including Upton House & Gardens
Different than other popular country houses, Upton House & Gardens thrived in the 1930s. A venue for lavish weekend parties, Lord Bearstead remodeled the house to be a millionaire’s ideal country getaway. Try your hand at a game of pool or play the large grand piano. Ask the staff about the extensive art collection. Stroll through the sprawling, thriving gardens. Enjoy a picnic on the lawn or order a meal from the restaurant--they use ingredients sourced directly from the gardens. Parking is free, but no pets are allowed. Make Upton House & Gardens a centerpiece of your Banbury vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Banbury trip itinerary builder.

  • Excellent day spent here, exploring the house and amazing grounds. Tea rooms were very good, soup was home made as was the cakes we ate. Well worth a visit.

  • The house and gardens are amazing. The English and French porcelain collections are wonderful. The painting collection is jaw dropping, there are no other words. The staff and volunteers are a pleasure to talk too. I couldn't resist buying plants and a painting collection catalogue. Can't wait to go back !
  • We had a great time here. It's not a big estate as National Trust properties go so you can see it all in a day quite easily. The house is very impressive with interesting artifacts inside. The gardens are well maintained and there are good pathways which are all well signposted. There are plenty of guides around too to make sure you are going in the right direction.
