Broughton Castle is a medieval fortified manor house in the village of Broughton, which is about two miles south-west of Banbury in Oxfordshire, England, on the B4035 road (grid reference SP418382). It is the home of the Fiennes (in full Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes) family, Barons Saye and Sele. The castle sits on an artificial island in pastureland and is surrounded by a wide moat. Across the small bridge lies the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, surrounded by its historic cemetery. A Grade I listed building, it opens to the public over the summer.

  • Fascinating, quirky castle. Beautiful surroundings. Very pretty garden borders. Lovely café and tasteful shop goods. Workers & volunteers seem to want to share their love of the place.

  • Rarely seen ' English long horn' cows can be seen grazing on the fields. Though closed for some months of the year, allows visitors to take a walk 🚶‍♂️ on their farm land. Loved it.
  • Beautiful place and full of history! And best of all, it's NOT a national trust place so feels far far better for it, feels very much like a home which the owners have opened up for us to enjoy without the rediculous rules NT places have! Loved it! ❤️❤️❤️
