Board a 1944 U.S. naval submarine or enter the cabin of a propeller-driven aircraft at Rahmi M. Koc Museum, dedicated to Turkey's industrial past and the history of transport and communications. The museum displays an eclectic collection belonging to its founder Rahmi M. Koç, member of the wealthiest Turkish dynasty. Exhibits include topics like racing, sports, classic automobiles, an amphibious car, lifeboats and ferryboats, aircraft, and an olive oil factory, as well as items like a Thomas Edison telegraph patent model. Don't miss the selection of 19th- and early 20th-century vehicles featuring a sultan's carriage, a steam engine locomotive, and an Istanbul tram. Put Rahmi M. Koc Museum and other Istanbul attractions into our Istanbul trip planning website, and watch your holiday take shape.

WORTH THE WALK. My wife said "it's a nice walk [from our hotel]. 2 hours later we arrive. A really eclectic collection of transport related items; some gems too. It's massive and you could easily spend the day there. Trains, cars, bikes, boats, motorbikes and even a submarine; they have everything. It was also amusing to see that some cats had made it there home (we love the Istanbul cats). See my other review for the restaurant - well worth a visit.

Awesome place, we enjoyed it. You have a great lot to visit, starting with vintage cars and bikes, trams, some railway cars, ships and planes. It's a nice place to see some experiments for kids to learn some physics, and for you see how engines and cars. The ticket price is decent price, and they have clean restrooms. Our only regret is that we didn't had that much time to finish the whole tour and we did skip the airplane part. If you plan to visit it fully and don't want to hurry, you should reserve 3 to 4 hours.
