The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Fri): explore the world behind art at Albertina, then learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Schönbrunn Zoo, then see the interesting displays at Mozarthaus Vienna, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Stephen's Cathedral. On the next day, make a trip to Stephansplatz, admire the masterpieces at Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, then ponder the world of politics at Rathaus, and finally examine the collection at Hofburg.

Despite its small size, Zell am See is a well-visited tourist destination known mostly as a ski resort town, and it serves as an important transportation hub for the region.
Get out of town with these interesting Zell am See side-trips: Die Bergbahn Kitzbuhel - KitzSki (in Kitzbuhel), Obertauern Ski Resort (in Obertauern) and Kitzsteinhorn (in Kaprun). There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Schmittenhohe, look for gifts at SOPURE - Salt & Soaps, make a trip to Burg Kaprun, and fly down the slopes at Zell Am See.
