Yogyakarta — 5 nights

Yogyakarta is a city on the island of Java in Indonesia. Get a sense of the local culture at Borobudur Temple and The Palace of Yogyakarta. Take a break from the city and head to Puncak Merapi and Goa Pindul Gelaran. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Yogyakarta: Parangtritis Beach (in Parangtritis), Off-Road Tours (in Sleman) and Prambanan Temples (in Prambanan). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Ullen Sentalu Museum, don't miss a visit to Sewu Temple, appreciate the history behind Yogyakarta Monument, and see the interesting displays at De Mata Trick Eye 3D Museum.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Yogyakarta is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also fly; or do a combination of bus, ferry, and train. The time zone difference moving from Malaysia Time to Western Indonesia Time is minus 1 hour. In July, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Thu) to allow enough time to fly back home.
