Your list of things to see and do now includes Vienna Woods, Volksgarten, Hundertwasserhaus, and other attractions. Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Thu): take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Stephen's Cathedral, admire the landmark architecture of Hundertwasserhaus, stroll around Volksgarten, take a stroll through Alte Donau, then get great views at Kahlenberg, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Strombad Kritzendorf. Melk, a small town of about 5,000, hugs the south side of the Danube.

You can take a train from Vienna to Melk in 1.5 hours. Another option is to drive. Traveling from Vienna in June, Melk is a bit warmer at night with lows of 21°C. You will have some time to spend on the 29th (Wed) before leaving for home.
