With the dramatic Carpathian Mountains as backdrop, Brasov is the largest city in a region of mountain resorts.
When in Brasov, make a side trip to see Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) in Bran, approximately Bran away. There's still lots to do: hit the slopes at Poiana Brasov, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Muntele Tampa, take in the spiritual surroundings of Black Church (Biserica Neagra), and test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms.

Bucharest to Brasov is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Fri) to allow time to drive to Sighisoara.

Sighisoara — 1 night

As a World Heritage Site, Sighisoara is visited mostly for its fortified Old Town surrounded entirely by city walls.
On the 4th (Sat), make a trip to Sighisoara Clock Tower, then get a taste of the local shopping with The Dracula Investigation, then admire the striking features of Centrul Istoric Sighisoara, and finally take in the pleasant sights at Scara Acoperita-Covered Stairway.

You can drive from Brasov to Sighisoara in 2 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a train. In March, plan for daily highs up to 14°C, and evening lows to -1°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) early enough to drive to Sibiu.

Sibiu — 1 night

Red Town

Reminiscent of the height of the bourgeoisie and retaining much of its medieval architecture, Sibiu is Romania's cultural gem.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sun): take in the views from Bridge of Lies, then take in panoramic vistas at Turnul Sfatului (The Tower of the Council), then make a trip to Big Square (Piata Mare), and finally see the interesting displays at Brukenthal National Museum.
