8 days in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh & Sihanoukville Itinerary

In March, daily temperatures in Siem Reap can reach 40°C, while at night they dip to 29°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Mon) early enough to catch the flight to Phnom Penh.

Kick off your visit on the 7th (Tue): steep yourself in history at Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, then get engrossed in the history at Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, then hunt for treasures at Central Market, and finally appreciate the history behind Independence Monument. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 8th (Wed): see the interesting displays at National Museum, take in the exciting artwork at Lotus Space, explore the historical opulence of Royal Palace, then browse the exhibits of Kbach Gallery, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Wat Phnom, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Statue of King Sisowath.

Fly from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In March, plan for daily highs up to 41°C, and evening lows to 29°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) so you can go by car to Sihanoukville.

On the 9th (Thu), cool off at Splash party, kick back and relax at Otres Beach, and then kick back and relax at Serendipity Beach. On the 10th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: soothe aching muscles at Vagabond Temple Yoga & Meditation Retreat, then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and then stop by Q&A Book Cafe.

Getting from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville by car takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of train and taxi. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can drive back home.
