Traveling from Sydney in July, Jenolan Caves is slightly colder at night with lows of 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sun) to allow time to drive to Mudgee.

Visit the city of Dubbo, the most populous urban area in the Orana Region, for an exciting and thriving multicultural city from which to explore the surrounding Great Western Plains.
On the 4th (Mon), contemplate the long history of Old Dubbo Gaol and then admire nature's wide array of creatures at Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: admire the natural beauty at Shoyoen Japanese Garden and then Head underground at Wellington Caves & Phosphate Mine.

Surrounded by lovely, largely unpopulated countryside, Coonabarabran is notable for the number of small churches in the area.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Wed): explore the striking landscape of Warrumbungle National Park. On the next day, look and learn at Siding Spring Observatory and then admire the majestic nature at Nelson Park.

Lightning Ridge is a town in north-western New South Wales, Australia, in Walgett Shire, near the southern border of Queensland, about six kilometres east of the Castlereagh Highway, and is served in commercial activities by the town of Walgett, some 75 km to the south. Start off your visit on the 8th (Fri): browse the exhibits of John Murray Art Gallery, then look for gifts at Opal Bin, then view the masterpieces at Chambers of The Black Hand, and finally take in the local highlights with Walking tours. On the 9th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: witness a stunning natural landmark at Artesian Baths.
