A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
Venture out of the city with trips to Otaru (Former Nippon Yusen Kaisha Otaru Branch, Otaru Canal, &more). The adventure continues: take in the architecture and design of Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus, stop by Susukino, don't miss a visit to Sapporo Clock Tower, and get great views at Mt. Moiwa.

Hakodate — 1 night

A gateway to the island, Hakodate has gained a reputation for its waterfront attractions, its proximity to some of the island's most popular natural sites, and its seafood.
On the 12th (Sat), take an in-depth tour of Goryokaku Tower, admire the landmark architecture of Goryokaku Park, steep yourself in history at The Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Hakodate, and finally don't miss a visit to Hachimanzaka.

Fly from Sapporo to Hakodate in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. When traveling from Sapporo in November, plan for a bit warmer days in Hakodate, with highs around 10°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 2°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Noboribetsu.

Noboribetsu — 2 nights

Perhaps the island's best-known hot spring resort, Noboribetsu has a long history of tourism.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Sun): get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, witness a stunning natural landmark at Oku no Yu, explore the striking landscape at Jigokudani, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and finally witness a stunning natural landmark at Oyunumagawa Natural Footbath.

You can drive from Hakodate to Noboribetsu in 3 hours. Another option is to take a train. In November, plan for daily highs up to 9°C, and evening lows to 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 14th (Mon) to allow time for the flight back home.
