Lignano Sabbiadoro — 2 nights

With a golden sand beach that stretches for almost 8 km (5 mi), Lignano Sabbiadoro represents one of the country's finest seaside resorts.
Explore hidden gems such as Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata and Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Castelmonte. Visit Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie and Rosazzo Abbey for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to La Chiesetta dei Martiri Gervasio e Protasio (in Carlino), Chiesa di S. Michele Arcangelo (in Mereto di Tomba) and Bell Tower of Aquileia (in Aquileia). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Doggy Beach, enjoy the sea views from The Red Lighthouse, tour the pleasant surroundings at Lignano Sabbiadoro Beach, and identify plant and animal life at Riserva Naturale Valle Cavanata.
