8 days in Drenthe Province Itinerary

Assen is a municipality and a city in the northeastern Netherlands, and is the capital of the province of Drenthe. Get out of town with these interesting Assen side-trips: Hunebed D1 (in Steenbergen), Emmen (Winkelcentrum de Weiert, Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen, &more) and SpaWell (in Peize). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Drents Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Asser Jozefkerk, get out on two wheels at Tt Circuit Assen, and take an in-depth tour of Ellert en Brammert.

Amsterdam to Assen is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. In November, plan for daily highs up to 11°C, and evening lows to 3°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Fri) so you can go by car back home.
