On the bank of the Mtkvari River and at the foot of Trialeti mountain range, Tbilisi's location has given the city strategic significance since it was founded in the 5th century.
On the 5th (Mon), appreciate the extensive heritage of Old Town (Altstadt) Tbilisi and then look for gifts at Chacha Corner. Keep things going the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at Tsminda Sameba Cathedral, soak in style at Turkish baths, explore the ancient world of Narikala Fortress, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sioni Church, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Mtatsminda Pantheon.
